Tip #3 Clothing

Since the weather in Brazil is usually warm, natives prefer to wear casual, informal, comfortable clothes. Just like Americans, most Brazilians wear jeans, shorts and T-shirts during the day. But because June marks the beginning of winter in Brazil, it tends to get cooler so make sure you bring warm clothes for the night. As for evening/party wear, a little formal will be great, but nothing too fancy like a sexy party dress for women and a button down shirts with a blazer for men. Footwear usually consists of sandals (havaianas flip flops) and tennis shoes. Try to avoid expensive tennis shoes, since shoes may immediately identify you as an American, or at least a “rico” a rich person. Most of all, dress simple, stylish, and inexpensive.
